In 薄暮/hakubo -the sun is thinning- , Nana Takano and Shelby Welte-Scheller turn their attention to what comes after: the moments following an event, the details left undocumented, and the memories that linger once the expected moment has passed.

Through photography and papermaking, the artists bring Japanese and American perspectives into conversation. Working with Kozo, a Japanese papermaking plant grown in Iowa, they use a shared material process to consider how culture, family, home, and memory are carried, altered, and understood over time.

The show will be open Sept. 28–Oct. 10 with a reception Oct. 1, 5:30–7:30 p.m. During the reception, we will have participatory elements available for interaction.
